During Palletization Disposable Xsensers™ are activated and placed in one of the middle cartons when pallets are assembled. They immediately begin monitoring temperature and relative humidity.
An Xsense Communications Unit (CU) installed at the facility transmits this data to the Xsense System so that you can instantly view reports onscreen from a secure, Web-based application. Xsense lets you know when pre-cooling of pallets is complete and helps you monitor produce temperature during loading.
In Transit Alerts When an Xsense Portable or Vehicle-mounted CU is placed in the transport vehicle, you can continue to view Xsense data onscreen throughout the shipment.
When pre-determined temperature and humidity thresholds are breached, you are immediately notified via SMS or email alerts. GPS tracking lets you view the geographic progress of the shipment as well.
When there is no Xsense CU onboard, Xsensers monitor and log data until the shipment arrives at a CU equipped facility. Upon arrival, all collected data is automatically downloaded and viewable onscreen.
At the Receiving Center If a CU is installed at a receiving facility or distribution center, Xsensers continue to monitor and transmit temperature and humidity data. Easy to read reports are available to help make informed accept/reject decisions based on actual produce quality. Compromised pallets can be diverted to cooling areas or sped on to final destination.
Collaboration Xsensers relay data via standard cellular networks to a secure Internet application. Cooperating parties in the cold supply chain can view data accumulated during shipment and storage, depending on the level of transparency you agree upon.
Shelf life models Because Xsense monitors perishable products from original packing point through to retail destination, FEFO (first expired, first out) management can be implemented. Pricing can be calculated based on remaining shelf life, supply chain waste is reduced and trouble spots within the supply chain identified.
